Year 5 Mother Tongue Day

25 February 2025

Year 5 had a fantastic day celebrating International mother language day with food tasting from France, Hugary, India, China, Afganistan, Portugal and Poland. Children enjoyed learning about how traditional Hungarian pastries are made and then enjoyed tasting  them! They created French carnival masks and learnt about India, Portugal, Albania, Hungary and Romania. 5 Shakespeare learnt to count in Portuguese and recite some phrases and 5 Rosen learnt to count and say words in Romanian. Miss M shared all her knowledge about the history and culture and music of Albania and we learnt all about the landscape and culture of Hong Kong. It was lovely to see so many children wearing traditional clothing and sharing their knowledge with their classmates.
